Life in Cranston
Cranston sits in Calgary’s far southeast, with Stoney Trail along its north side, Deerfoot Trail to the east, and Fish Creek Park and the Bow River wrapping around the west and south. Building started in 1999 on former farmland, so most homes date from the 2000s and 2010s. The newest phase, Riverstone, runs along the river around two naturalized ponds.
The Cranston Residents Association runs Century Hall, a 22,000 sq. ft. community centre with a gym, a splash park, an outdoor rink and a 2.8-hectare private park. The South Health Campus is just east, and Seton’s shops, theatre, YMCA and library are next door.
Who Tends to Love It Here
Cranston tends to suit families who want a detached house with a yard, people who’ll use the river pathways and Fish Creek Park every week, and anyone who works at the South Health Campus.

Cranston Real Estate Market
The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Cranston wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the South East district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cranston
Have a question that isn’t here? Ask me and I’ll get back to you, usually the same day.
What is Century Hall in Cranston?
Century Hall is Cranston’s residents’ centre, run by the Cranston Residents Association. It’s a 22,000 sq. ft. building with a gym and meeting rooms, plus a splash park, an outdoor hockey rink and a 2.8-hectare private park. Homeowners pay a yearly fee that covers access.
What do homes in Cranston cost?
CREB®’s October 2026 benchmark prices for Cranston are $728,400 for detached homes and $410,300 for row and townhouses. I’m happy to pull recent sales for the homes you’re looking at.
Is it a buyer’s or seller’s market in Cranston?
In October 2026, detached homes in the South East district had 3.16 months of supply and a 57.01% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®). As a rough guide, under about 3 months of supply favours sellers, 3 to 4 months is balanced, and over about 4 months starts to favour buyers. Townhomes and condos can behave differently, so ask me for the numbers on the type of home you want.
Is there a CTrain station in Cranston?
No. The Green Line is planned to serve Seton next door, but it isn’t built. Most people drive or take the bus today, with Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail on the community’s edges.
Is Cranston close to Fish Creek Park?
Yes. Fish Creek Provincial Park and the Bow River border Cranston to the west and south, so most homes are a short walk or bike ride from the trails.
Which schools are near Cranston?
You’ll find the closest schools, with distances, in the What’s Nearby section above. Designated schools can change from year to year, so check the address with the CBE or the Calgary Catholic School District before you buy.
