Life in Killarney/Glengarry

Killarney/Glengarry runs from 17th Avenue SW in the north to Richmond Road in the south, between 37th Street SW and 25A Street SW. The first subdivision plan was registered in 1906 and the city annexed the land in 1910, but most of the original homes are post-war bungalows on 25- and 50-foot lots.

Since the early 2000s many of those bungalows have been replaced with infills, so you’ll often see a 1950s home and a brand-new build on the same block. The Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre is in the community, Westbrook Mall and the Westbrook CTrain station are just north of 17th Avenue, and there are shops along 17th Avenue, 26th Avenue and 37th Street.

Who Tends to Love It Here

Killarney/Glengarry tends to suit buyers who want a newer infill close to downtown, couples and young families who’ll use the CTrain, and builders looking for a lot in an established area.

Killarney/Glengarry Real Estate Market

The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Killarney/Glengarry wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the City Centre district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

Frequently Asked Questions About Killarney/Glengarry

Have a question that isn’t here? Ask me and I’ll get back to you, usually the same day.

Yes. Westbrook station on the West LRT, which opened in 2012, is just north of 17th Avenue SW next to Westbrook Mall.

CREB®’s October 2026 benchmark prices for Killarney/Glengarry are $838,400 for detached homes and $940,000 for semi-detached homes. New infills often sell well above the benchmark, so ask me for recent sales on your street.

In October 2026, detached homes in the City Centre district had 3.52 months of supply and a 61.90% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®). As a rough guide, under about 3 months of supply favours sellers, 3 to 4 months is balanced, and over about 4 months starts to favour buyers. Townhomes and condos can behave differently, so ask me for the numbers on the type of home you want.

Most of the original houses were small post-war bungalows on 25- and 50-foot lots. Since about 2002 many have been replaced with newer infills, semi-detached homes and townhouses, and that is still happening today.

Yes. The City of Calgary’s Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre is right in the community.

You’ll find the closest schools, with distances, in the What’s Nearby section above. Designated schools can change from year to year, so check the address with the CBE or the Calgary Catholic School District before you buy.
