Life in Fairview

Fairview sits in south-central Calgary between Macleod Trail and Blackfoot Trail, from Glenmore Trail down to Heritage Drive. The land was annexed in 1956 and the community was established in 1959. About 61% of homes were built before 1961 and 30% between 1961 and 1980, so expect bungalows on mature, tree-lined lots, with some newer infills and a few apartment buildings.

Fairmount Drive runs through the middle, with Fairview Shopping Centre, Fairview Park and the community’s two public schools, Fairview School and Le Roi Daniels School. Heritage station on the Red Line is close, Chinook Centre is just northwest, and Deerfoot Meadows shopping is across Blackfoot Trail.

Who Tends to Love It Here

Fairview tends to suit first-time buyers looking for a detached bungalow close to the inner city, families who want schools within walking distance, and builders looking at infill lots.

Nearby in south Calgary: Kingsland, Acadia and Haysboro. Buying your first home? See the first-time buyer programs.

Fairview Real Estate Market

The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Fairview wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the South district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

In October 2026, detached homes in the South district had 3.07 months of supply and a 52.34% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®). As a rough guide, under about 3 months of supply favours sellers, 3 to 4 months is balanced, and over about 4 months starts to favour buyers.
