Life in Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill sits just north of 16 Avenue NW, between 10 Street and 19 Street NW, with Confederation Park and its golf course along the north edge. Most of the community was built from 1948 on, and its community association formed in 1949. Capitol Hill Park, laid out between 1932 and 1941 by city parks superintendent William Reader, is still a neighbourhood hub. About a third of homes date from before 1961, and about one in five has gone up since 2011, so original bungalows sit beside new infills and duplexes.
SAIT and the Jubilee Auditorium are just south across 16 Avenue, Lions Park station on the Red Line and North Hill Centre are nearby, and the University of Calgary and Foothills Medical Centre are a short drive west.
Who Tends to Love It Here
Capitol Hill tends to suit buyers who want a new infill close to downtown, people who work or study at SAIT or the university, and investors looking at rental homes and redevelopment lots.
Nearby: Banff Trail, Mount Pleasant and Kensington. Thinking of selling an older bungalow? See what your home is worth.

Capitol Hill Real Estate Market
The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Capitol Hill wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the City Centre district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.
