Life in Glenbrook

Glenbrook is in west Calgary, between 26 Avenue SW, 37 Street SW, Richmond Road and Sarcee Trail. The land joined the City of Calgary in 1954 and 1956, and the community was established in 1958.

Homes are a real mix: original bungalows, semi-detached infills, townhomes and low-rise condos. Glenbrook Elementary, A.E. Cross School and Catholic schools are in the community, the Signal Hill shopping area is just west across Sarcee Trail, and the 45 Street and Westbrook CTrain stations are a short trip north.

Who Tends to Love It Here

Glenbrook tends to suit first-time buyers looking at townhomes and condos close to the inner city, families who want schools in the community, and buyers looking for a bungalow or infill at a good price.

Nearby in west Calgary: Signal Hill, Killarney/Glengarry and Richmond. Buying your first home? See the first-time buyer programs.

Glenbrook Real Estate Market

The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Glenbrook wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the West district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

Frequently Asked Questions About Glenbrook

Have a question that isn’t here? Ask me and I’ll get back to you, usually the same day.

In west Calgary, between 26 Avenue SW, 37 Street SW, Richmond Road and Sarcee Trail. Signal Hill is just west and Killarney/Glengarry is to the east.

CREB®’s October 2026 benchmarks are $988,400 for detached homes (West district) and $271,500 for row and townhouses (Glenbrook). Where CREB® doesn’t publish a Glenbrook-only figure, I’ve used the district benchmark. I’m happy to pull recent sales for the homes you’re looking at.

In October 2026, detached homes in the West district had 2.51 months of supply and a 66.67% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®). As a rough guide, under about 3 months of supply favours sellers, 3 to 4 months is balanced, and over about 4 months starts to favour buyers. Townhomes and condos can behave differently, so ask me for the numbers on the type of home you want.

Glenbrook Elementary and A.E. Cross School are public, and St. Gregory and St. Thomas Aquinas are Catholic. Designated schools can change from year to year, so check the address with the CBE or the Calgary Catholic School District before you buy.

Yes. The 45 Street and Westbrook stations on the Blue Line are a short trip north of the community.

You’ll find the closest schools, with distances, in the What’s Nearby section above. Designated schools can change from year to year, so check the address with the CBE or the Calgary Catholic School District before you buy.
