Life in Citadel
Citadel is in northwest Calgary, bounded by Stoney Trail, Sarcee Trail and Country Hills Boulevard. It was established in 1993, and most homes were built in the 1990s and 2000s, so you’ll mostly find detached two-storey houses and bungalows, with some townhomes and low-rise condos.
Citadel Park School and St. Brigid, a Catholic school, are in the community. Buses connect to Crowfoot station on the Red Line, and Crowfoot Crossing shopping and Nose Hill Park are a short drive away.
Who Tends to Love It Here
Citadel tends to suit families who want a detached house with a yard, buyers who want a 1990s or 2000s home in a settled area, and anyone who wants quick Stoney Trail access to the mountains or the airport.
Nearby in northwest Calgary: Arbour Lake and Edgemont. Buying your first home? See the first-time buyer programs.

Citadel Real Estate Market
The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Citadel wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the North West district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

No. Buses connect Citadel to Crowfoot station on the Red Line, a short ride away.
What do homes in Citadel cost?
CREB®’s October 2026 benchmarks are $660,700 for detached homes (Citadel) and $418,500 for row and townhouses (North West district). Where CREB® doesn’t publish a Citadel-only figure, I’ve used the district benchmark. I’m happy to pull recent sales for the homes you’re looking at.
Which schools are in Citadel?
Citadel Park School is public and St. Brigid is Catholic. Older students usually go to schools in nearby communities. Check the address with the CBE or the Calgary Catholic School District before you buy.
Where is Citadel?
In northwest Calgary, between Stoney Trail, Sarcee Trail and Country Hills Boulevard, next to Hawkwood, Arbour Lake and the Hamptons.
Is it a buyer’s or seller’s market in Citadel?
In October 2026, detached homes in the North West district had 2.96 months of supply and a 63.64% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®). As a rough guide, under about 3 months of supply favours sellers, 3 to 4 months is balanced, and over about 4 months starts to favour buyers. Townhomes and condos can behave differently, so ask me for the numbers on the type of home you want.
