Life in Hawkwood
Hawkwood sits between Country Hills Boulevard, Sarcee Trail, John Laurie Boulevard and Nose Hill Drive. It was established in 1981 and named after the Hawkwood family, who farmed here after coming to Alberta from England in 1913. Most homes went up in the 1980s and 1990s, and almost all of them are detached houses.
The community has Hawkwood School (public) and St. Maria Goretti (Catholic), and its hillside streets give many homes views of the mountains or downtown. Crowfoot Crossing and Crowfoot station on the Red Line are just west, and Nose Hill Park is a short drive east.
Who Tends to Love It Here
Hawkwood tends to suit families who want a detached house in a settled neighbourhood, move-up buyers looking for more space, and long-time northwest residents who want to stay close to Crowfoot.
Nearby in northwest Calgary: Arbour Lake and Edgemont. Buying your first home? See the first-time buyer programs.

Hawkwood Real Estate Market
The benchmark prices below are CREB®’s own community-level figures for Hawkwood wherever CREB® publishes one; any home type without enough sales this month uses the North West district instead, and months of supply and the sales-to-new-listings ratio are district figures. These are CREB®’s published figures, not my estimates. If you want to know what homes on a particular street have actually sold for, ask me and I’ll pull the recent sales.

Not inside the community, but Crowfoot station on the Red Line is just west of it.
What do homes in Hawkwood cost?
CREB®’s October 2026 benchmarks are $724,300 for detached homes (Hawkwood) and $418,500 for row and townhouses (North West district). Where CREB® doesn’t publish a Hawkwood-only figure, I’ve used the district benchmark. I’m happy to pull recent sales for the homes you’re looking at.

In October 2026, detached homes in the North West district had 2.96 months of supply and a 63.64% sales-to-new-listings ratio (CREB®).
